VRT Veleslavin
A proposal for a new high-speed rail terminal in Prague, employing an innovative structural timber system. In order to significantly decrease the on-site construction time, our Veleslavin station project developed an offsite prefabrication strategy of large laminated timber beams that are transported to site during the construction to minimise the disruption to the train operation. The laminating strategy gives the project its characteristic expression and allows the fabrication of large structural members. Images by Studio Negativ.
