Hainan bridge
The project places a strong emphasis on integrating traditional construction techniques into a contemporary piece of infrastructure, seamlessly woven into Hainan's culturally rich context. The proposed bridge is envisioned to be constructed using timber, drawing inspiration from traditional constructions scaled up for a larger context. Three double timber columns carry a central continuous pratt beams, that consists of stacked timber elements, which include diagonal cables. The assemblage of these elements insure the transfer of shear forces that enables to take over the momentum of the beam. The central beam cantilevers two decks and the roof on each side of itself.
